The National health insurance Authority (NHIA) office in Adentan held a stakeholder engagement for its facilities within the Adentan Municipality. The engagement was held on the 19th and 20th of January 2023 at the AdMA conference hall to help train and educate their health administrators in health facilities within the municipality about its new APP innovation called “MyNHIS APP”.
Speaking to Robert Nii Adotey Allotey, MIS officer for Adentan NHIS District office, in an interview he said that, Costumers could access NHIS service through “MyNHIS APP”, including self-registration and renewal, registration and renewal for third parties, frequently asked questions about NHIS and linking ones Ghana card to the NHIS card can be ascertained on the APP without having to visit their office.
According to him, this APP can be found on google play store and equally on apple store and further explained that all you need to do is to download the App and with the help of your Ghana card, you can generate digital card for yourself to use it to access healthcare.
He further explained that beneficiaries are only restricted when they do not have access to a smart phone and internet.
“The NHIS is utilizing technology by creating mobile application to ensure that members may easily access the services of the NHIS scheme outside their home” according to him.
In an interaction with a stakeholder, she said that, the innovation is very convenient as compared to previously means of accessing healthcare since it will save them the stress of going to their office.
She added that, “this will go a long way to help Ghanaians have access to general healthcare.
