The Adentan Municipal Assembly has engaged stakeholders in its four zonal councils to report to them on the level of implementation of the Medium-Term Development Plan 2018-2021 (MTDP).
The Assembly’s plan which is from 2018 to 2021 was developed in 2017 to guide development activities in the municipality for the four-year term. Developed under the national development policy framework currently “Agenda for Jobs Creating Prosperity and Equal Opportunities for All 2018-2021”, the plan seeks to empower electorates for local economic development.
The team for the exercise met with stakeholders in the Sutsurunaa, Nii Ashalle, Gbentanaa and Koose zonal areas. Participants were taken through their various prioritized community needs as at 2017 and the level of implementation so far by the various zonal councils.
Stakeholders were given the opportunity to ask questions on the presentation in an open forum and responses were provided by a team led by the Municipal Planning Officer Ms. Rebecca Anan. Assembly and Unit Committee Members were also present to speak to issues concerning their various areas. The needs were later reprioritized. Major concerns of participants included water supply to various communities, drains, employment opportunities, street lights among others.
The implementation of the current plan will end in 2021 when stakeholders will be engaged again towards the development of another plan.
