The Adentan Municipal Assembly (AdMA) convened its first management meeting of the year at the Assembly’s conference room, under the leadership of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) – Hon. Ella Christine Esinam Nongo. The session, which commenced promptly at 11:30 a.m had an opened prayer setting a solemn tone for the day’s deliberations.
PURPOSE AND OPENING REMARKS
The meeting brought together all unit heads and departmental leaders to present reports, share concerns, and account for their responsibilities. In her opening remarks, the Honorable MCE emphasized the Assembly’s commitment to improving municipal services and fostering a cleaner, safer environment. She highlighted the upcoming clean‑up exercise scheduled for January 20–24, 2026, stressing its importance in safeguarding public health and maintaining sanitation across Adentan.
DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
Heads of departments provided updates on their respective operations, achievements, and challenges. Several departments including Human Resource, Urban Roads, and Finance delivered presentations outlining their progress. Notably, achievements from the previous year were celebrated, including awards presented during the annual durbar held on December 24, 2025. Staff members who received recognition were applauded and encouraged to sustain their exemplary performance. The MCE also commended the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) for its impactful training programs that continue to empower young people with practical skills.
KEY DISCUSSIONS AND SUGGESTIONS
The meeting addressed a range of operational matters. The MCE urged staff to maintain the recently renovated washrooms, underscoring the importance of hygiene and safety in the workplace. The Head of Human Resources proposed several initiatives, including the establishment of a staff canteen to reduce time lost during lunch breaks, extending YEA training opportunities to Assembly staff, and improving inner roads within Adentan to facilitate safe and efficient movement for workers.
HEALTH AND COMMUNITY INITIATIVES
The Department of Health announced a community health screening exercise, organized by Hon. Adamu Ramadan, Member of Parliament for Adentan Constituency. The screening is scheduled for January 21–22, 2026, and aims to promote wellness among residents.
In her concluding remarks, the MCE announced that the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council will partner with AdMA to celebrate Ghana’s 69th Independence Day on March 6, 2026.
