A 265 sitting capacity ultra-modern library was commissioned by the H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, the President of the Ghana in Fafraha, a suburb of Adentan Municipality, on the 16th of June, 2022.
The library facility was named “Edward Akufo Addo” and was pronounced as the 110th public library under the management of the Ghana Library Authority (GLA).
The facility is stocked with about 21,679 books to help both the young and adults in the community to have quick access to educational materials. The facility is also equipped with 50 computers, connected to a free WI-FI connectivity to enhance digital learning and online research.
H.E Nana Akufo Addo in his speech during the ceremony stated that, as part of his ambition is to build more libraries nationwide to promote quality education. As such, he appealed to all Ghanaians to support his administration to make his ambition a reality. This he said is geared towards achieving the fourth United Nations Sustainable Development Goal.
Hon. Daniel Alexander Nii-Noi Adumuah, the Municipal Chief Executive of the area expressed his gratitude to the president of the republic for gracing the occasion and also to the Ghana Library Authority for extending their hands to improve education in Adentan.
