The Adentan Municipal Assembly as part of its vision to improve quality education has handed over 800 pcs of school furniture valued at Four Hundred and Eighty-Six Thousand, Nine Hundred and Ninety-Two Ghana Cedis (GH₵486,992.00) and a truck valued at Two Hundred and Twenty Eight Thousand, One Hundred and Forty Ghana Cedis. (GH₵228,140.00) to the education, directorate to be distributed to schools in the Municipality.
The items included; Dual Desks (Upper Primary) 200pcs, Mono Desks (Junior High School) 200pcs, Mono Desks (Lower Primary) 200pcs, Dual Desks (Lower Primary) 200pcs, Teacher’s Chairs and Tables 32pcs, Kg Round Tables and Chairs 30pcs, Cabinet 12pcs, Conference Tables (Medium Size) 2pcs, Visitor’s Chairs 10pcs and a truck.
Speaking at the ceremony the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. D.A Nii-Noi Adumuah indicated that the funds were received from the District Donor Fund by the Assembly due to its great performance in the recent District Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT) which is organized every year. The assembly is ready to promote safety and ensure that pupils get adequate furniture to aid in proper educational systems, he added.
The Deputy Director of Admin & Finance, Mrs. Diana Osam-Tewiah received the items on behalf of the Education Directorate. She thanked the Assembly for their constant support and further stated that this gesture will go a long way to reduce the pressure on the existing furniture available in the schools.
