The Adentan Municipal Assembly on Tuesday, 23 March 2021 donated 1,170 school uniforms to the Municipal Education Directorate to be distributed to needy children in the various schools.
This initiative according to the MCE, Mr. Daniel Nii-Noi Adumuah was done to motivate the pupils to take their education seriously and also to make sure no child is left out of the education system.
Recounting the Assembly’s efforts over the last four years, he said that the Assembly has constructed schools, toilet facilities and provided items like detergents, hand gloves under the Gama Project to help improve sanitary conditions in schools within the municipality. The New Legon School which is the newest addition is in its third phase even though it’s currently in use he stated.
The MCE further assured teachers and other stakeholders of the Assembly’s commitment to ensure that every electoral area is provided with a school with conducive learning environment for pupils. He also appealed to the teachers to make sure they go by the necessary directives so that their pupils become better people.
Mrs Dinah Osam- Tewiah the Deputy Director for Administration and Finance of the Education Service received the uniforms and expressed her gratitude for the grand gesture from the Assembly .She also thanked the MCE for his prompt response to the directorate whenever they call on the Assembly for assistance and assured the MCE that the Education Directorate would ensure they do their part to let the children receive the uniforms accordingly and to create the best learning environment for them.
