The Budget Office of the Adentan Municipal Assembly (Adma) has held a three day Annual Composite Budget Performance Report Hearing for all Units and Departments of the assembly.
The meeting which started on the Wenesday 26th to Friday 28th August 2026 at the AdMA conference hall, chaired by Hon. Samuel Akrofi Finance and Administrative(F/A) Chairman was assisted by Hon.Tony Blair, Hon.John Delas Ahamah, the budget head Mr.Appiah and various heads of department/Unit.
The meeting aimed at discussing achievements,activities and progress that various departments have made so far and plans for the year ahead including challenges that were encountered..
The first report hearing was Education Department stating achievement so far, their objectives and plans ahead.They indicated that,they held 16 activities including how to enroll new learners at various schools, organized mock exams for candidates at junior high level, awards for hard working teachers, among others with funding from the Internal Generated Fund (IGF)
Next to present its report was Clients Service Unit. The Unit began by stating the number of clients who visited the assembly on a daily basis.
According to them, their plans for the coming year is to organize the clients service week celebration which happens every year worldwide.Some suggestions were made for the event such as branded T shirts for clients service unit,small refreshments for clients,publicity and awareness creation materials in addition to public sensitization. Funding is to be sourced from the IGF for all the activities.
Cooperative Department which was headed by Madam Naomi began their presentation mentioning programs organized as a department over the period.
The department organized a fashion design class for the youth in the municipality also funded by IGF.
Taking their turn, the Municipal Information systems (MIS) Unit presented disclosing that it organized a data protection principle for staff. Staff were also able to acquire social media with their assistance and data collection for full utilization of revenue management systems.
On their part, Birth and Death Department enumerated their activities for the year which includes,sensitization of death registration and burial permits,public education on early childbirth registration,mobile door to door mass registration and birth sensitization.
The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) mentioned a few activities they were able to undertake throughout the year which were public sensitization and awareness creation of YEA activities,monitoring and evaluation of beneficiaries,beneficiaries graduation and handling over to various institutions and one stakeholders meeting on YEA.
The Transport Unit, on their part, mentioned few activities they undertook as a department in the period under review.
They monitored activities and collected data on transport operators,held public education and sensitization meeting for transport officers, enforced driver’s permit,route certificates and vehicle stickers procurement funded by IGF.
Urban Roads Department, making their presentation, stated improvements of roads within the municipality, adding that, some measures will be put in place to make the inner roads of Adentan better for users.
Social Welfare Department, in their presentation, indicated the impact of their intervention measures on lives of People With Disabilities ( PWD) within the municipality. It came out that, they organized few programs to help PWDs earn livelihoods for themselves without relying on people.
Some of the support items given were fridges,poly tanks and other materials to help them make a living for themselves.
The Information Services Department headed by Madam Cornelia Asante made her brief presentation on activities taken by the department with the help of IGF including plans for the year ahead.
She indicated that plans are afoot to project the Municipality and make the assembly more visible through social media platforms.
Head of Culture Department, Madam Patricia Agyemang presented on behalf of her department.
She mentioned some programs for the year 2027 such as cultural exhibition, workshops for hotels and bars to help bring tourists to the country and the municipality as a whole.
