In a conscious attempt to address the educational and healthcare infrastructural needs of the area, the Adentan Municipal Assembly has commissioned four major development projects in the Municipality to enhance service delivery to residents.
The projects, commissioned on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, are located at Otano Presbyterian School, Ashiyie Community Basic School, Amrahia Health Centre and Adentan Community School Complex.
The commissioning ceremonies which were led by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Ella Esinam Christine Nongo, and the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), Mr. Seth Aniim Boadi, were attended by Honourable Assembly Members representing the various electoral areas and Heads of Departments of the Assembly.
At Otano Presbyterian School, the Assembly commissioned the phase two of a three-storey, 18-unit classroom block. The structure is expected to provide additional classroom space and create congenial environment to facilitate teaching and learning.
At Ashiyie Community Basic School, a two-unit classroom block for Kindergarten (KG) was commissioned. It is expected that, the facility would provide a convenient learning environment for the school’s young learners and support early childhood education in the community.
The Assembly also commissioned a two-storey clinic comprising a maternity block and staff accommodation at the Amrahia Health Centre.
The facility is expected to strengthen healthcare delivery in the area, particularly maternal and child healthcare, while providing accommodation to support the availability of healthcare personnel.
In the same vein, at the Adentan Community School Complex, the Assembly commissioned the phase II of a three-storey, 22-unit classroom block, to provide additional infrastructure for the growing school population and improve the teaching and learning environment.
In an address at the commissioning, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ella Esinam Christine Nongo, reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to providing infrastructure that responds to the needs of residents and supports the development of the Municipality.
She observed that investment in education and healthcare infrastructure was essential to improving the quality of life of residents and creating opportunities for future generations.
Hon. Nongo urged the beneficiary schools and surrounding communities to take ownership of the projects and ensure that the facilities were properly maintained.
The MCE also acknowledged the Member of Parliament (MP)for the Adentan Constituency Hon.Ramadan,the Assembly Members, Heads of Departments, contractors and other stakeholders whose efforts contributed to the successful completion of the projects.
On his part, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Seth Anim Boadi, emphasized the importance of maintaining the facilities to ensure that they continued to serve their intended purposes
The commissioning of the four projects comes as a significant milestone addressing the Municipality’s educational and healthcare infrastructure needs while demonstrating the Assembly’s commitment to delivering on its development mandate to the people.
