The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Adentan Municipal Assembly, Hon. Ella Esinam Christine Nongo, together with the Municipal Coordinating Director on Monday, June 8, 2026 led a team of engineers, planners and NADMO officers to inspect a damaged bridge near New Legon International School in New Legon Electoral Area of the Municipality.

The bridge was severely damaged following last week’s heavy rainfall, which caused widespread flooding across many parts of Accra.

As the only access route connecting sections of the community, the damage to the bridge has disrupted movement, making it impossible for residents to cross from one side to the other.

Addressing the residents, the MCE assured them that a temporary access route would be created to facilitate movement while reconstruction works commence immediately.

Since last week, the Assembly’s assessment team has visited several affected communities, including Amrahia, Nanakrom, and Ashiyie, to evaluate the extent of the damage caused by the floods and identify practical solutions to address the challenges faced by residents.

The Adentan Municipal Assembly remains committed to ensuring the safety of residents and restoring critical infrastructure as quickly as possible.
