Ms. Akua Aniniwaa Owusu-Asamoah, head of Fiscal Decentralization Unit at the Ministry of Finance, and a member of the team monitoring the composite budget estimates implementation across the 261 Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs), lauded the officers of the Adentan Municipal Assembly for their outstanding performance in revenue mobilization.

Ms. Akua Aniniwa Owusu-Asamoah emphasized that Adentan Municipal Assembly stands out in the Greater Accra Region for its impressive revenue mobilization efforts, impressing the monitoring team with their budget performances.

The Fiscal Decentralization Unit head also noted the clarity and efficiency of the officers’ responses to the monitoring questionnaire, making their task considerably easier.

These remarks were made during the assessment exercise for the 2023 and first quarter of 2024 composite budget estimates implementation held at the Adentan Municipal Assembly Hall on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

The monitoring, conducted by the Ministry of Finance in collaboration with some selected Local Governance Institutions and the Regional Coordinating Council, aims to enhance Public Financial Management and Service Delivery at the Sub-National Level. The exercise focused on the 2023 and first quarter of 2024 financial year.

In a brief statement, the Municipal Chief Executive of the Adentan Municipal Assembly, Hon Ebenezer Doku, expressed gratitude to the team from the Ministry of Finance and the Regional Coordinating Council for the assessment.

He affirmed the Assembly’s commitment to maintaining its performance in revenue mobilization, acknowledging the challenge of sustaining excellence once achieved.

Present at the meeting were Dr. Alex Amankwah Poku, head of Budget Development and Reforms at the Ministry of Finance, Ms. Irene Nkansah, Budget Officer of Ministry of Finance,  Ms. Akua Aniniwa Owusu-Asamoah, Head of Fiscal Decentralization Unit at the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Sahanunu Sumaila from Ministry of Finance,  Ms. Rita Bossman-Armah from the Regional Coordinating Council, Maame Adwoa Kwakye also from the Regional Co-coordinating Council,  Hon. Ebenezer Doku, Municipal Chief Executive of the Adentan Municipal Assembly,  Ms. Portia Edu-Essandoh, Deputy Director of Adentan Municipal Assembly,  Mr. Isaac Appiah, Head of Budget Unit, and some Heads of other departments/units of the Assembly.

The assessing team encouraged the Officers present to continue their exemplary work and strive for further improvement.
