ADENTAN MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY

Hon. Ebenezer Doku has been confirmed as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Adentan Municipal Assembly after receiving 100% endorsement from assembly members on Tuesday, February 20th at the Victory Presbyterian Church, Fafraha in the Gbentanaa Electoral Area of the municipality,

Following the dismissal of the previous MCE in early February, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo nominated Hon. Ebenezer Doku to take over the position. The assembly members, per the standing orders were required to vote with a two-thirds majority in favour of the president’s nominee to confirm him as the new MCE.

Immediately after his declaration, Hon.  Doku took the oath of office and secrecy which was administered by her ladyship, Nancy Adade on behalf of the Chief Justice.

In his acceptance speech, the new Municipal Chief Executive expressed his gratitude to President Akufo-Addo and the assembly members for their support. He emphasized the importance of collaboration and unity in building a better Adentan, promising an open forum policy and a commitment to working tirelessly.

Dignitaries who graced the occasion were, The Chief Director Ms. Lilian Baeka, Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), Chief Director, Local Government Service, Ms. Felicia Dapaah, Municipal Coordinating Director, Ms Rachel Fosua Sarpong, Greater Accra Regional Electoral Officer, Ms. Gladys Tinkirah, Her ladyship Nancy Adade, Chief Justice Representative, MCE nominee, Mr Ebenezer Doku, political party executives and Assembly Members, Heads of Departments and Staff of Adentan Municipal Assembly and the general public.

Ebenezer Doku is a seasoned Administration Practitioner with a wealth of experience in organizational growth. Holding a Master’s in Business Administration (Corporate Governance) and a strong background in Sales & Marketing, Operations, and Customer Service, he is well-versed in business administration across all management levels. Mr. Doku’s leadership skills and corporate governance expertise position him as a valuable asset for the Adentan Municipal Assembly.

Work experience

Ebenezer Doku’s professional journey includes a prominent role as the Head of Marketing, Corporate & Consumer Clients at Petro Afrique Ltd, where he successfully developed marketing plans, built meaningful customer relationships, and aligned fuel demand with supply. His accomplishments extend to Business Development Coordination at Glico Life Insurance Ltd and a significant tenure as senior Sales and Marketing Executive of the Stallion group (Honda Place and Hyundai Motors).

Education

Mr. Doku’s educational background boasts a Master’s in Business Administration (Corporate Governance), an Executive Certificate in Logistics & Supply Chain Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. His commitment to continuous professional development is evident through workshops and training programs.

Other positions held

Mr. Doku’s engagement in various capacities, including serving as a Member of the Greater Accra Regional Lands Commission and President of the Student Representative Council at Koforidua Technical University, highlights his multifaceted leadership capabilities.

Political experience

With a rich political background in the Adentan constituency, Doku has held positions such as Constituency Secretary (2 terms), Assistant Constituency Secretary, and a Polling Station Chairman. He is currently serving as the Regional Research and Elections Officer for NPP Greater Accra, and served as the Regional Rep in Ablekuma Central and Weija – Gbawe constituencies in the recently held Parliamentary Primaries in the Greater Accra Region. He has actively contributed to political committees and played key roles in coordinating campaign activities including serving as the D-Day coordinator, secretary to election committees, among others.

Personal life

Mr. Doku is Married with three children, and is a devoted family man. His strong commitment to his Christian faith is reflected in his personal and professional life.
