The Municipal Planning and Coordinating Unit (MPCU) of the Adentan Municipal Assembly has held a two days Business Forum for stakeholders in the municipality on Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th September,2023 at the Assembly Hall.
The Business Forum was organized under the theme “ Empowering Sustainable Business Ecosystem” to engage the business committee in the municipality in order to create an ecosystem of business that can be maintained.
In a short remark at the opening ceremony of the business forum, the Municipal Chief Executive,Honorable Alexander Nii-Noi Adumuah encouraged stakeholders to reach out through the Assembly to seek business help and guidance to foster business growth.
“Today, we are creating this forum as a new entity that will help bind us together to create just one thing, a sustainable business ecosystem that empowers all those who are in business, all those whose businesses are in progress to recognize that just next door to them within the Adentan Municipality, there maybe somebody who has the solution to your problem. Reach out through the Assembly, we shall present ourselves as the help”, he said.
In addition, Mr. Kwasi Baafi from the Self employed division of Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) who led his team took the stakeholders who are into small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through the membership and benefits of being part of the scheme to secure a good life after retirement.
“ what we are responsible for doing for every single individual is to replace a portion of your salary when you retire. That does not mean we will give you everything you use to earn but just a portion. Every working individual can enroll on the scheme and enjoy all the benefits that comes with it which includes: Invalidity pension, emigration lump sum, survivors lump sum and the old age pension”, he said.
The business forum has other presentations from the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA)on the importance of paying tax, First Atlantic Bank on the financial packages available to business owners, Ghana Enterprise Agency ( GEA) on how to promote and develop micro- businesses, Revenue Unit on projects done by the Assembly through the funds accumulated from building permits and business operating permits, Department of cooperatives on the significance of joining associations and the Agric department on how to grow farms with fertilizers for productivity.
