The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon. Daniel Alexander Nii-Noi Adumuah, met with traditional elders to discuss issues related to the upcoming Homowo Celebration and the establishment of a council of chiefs. The MCE encouraged the elders to meet with the traditional council frequently to ensure their voices were heard. The chiefs constituted a committee to organize the Homowo Celebration as well organize themselves for unity and future development. The MCE suggested they should be creative in their celebrations to attract foreign investment.
The elders discussed Issues related to chieftaincy affairs during the Homowo Celebration and suggested an office be established to handle such matters.
Nii Ashifi proposed the establishment of a council of chiefs to form a formidable force and unit, which the MCE encouraged them to do. Chiefs were appointed to spearhead monthly meetings, and the Adentan Mantse Nii Adjei Dorblo II was appointed the interim chairperson.
The MCE encouraged the elders to appoint Asafoatsemei who will be responsible for ensuring cleanliness within the communities and to restrain from enstooling foreigners (non-Ga’s) as chiefs. The meeting also discussed issues related to land guard activities and chieftaincy disputes affecting the activities of the Assembly.
The meeting closed after three hours, and the stakeholders were encouraged to focus on gathering themselves to ensure development and peace within the Municipality.
