On Friday, April 21st, 2023, the Adentan Municipal Assembly donated food items to the Muslim community to mark the end of their 30-day fasting with EID celebrations.
The MCE, Hon. Alexander Nii-Noi Adumuah, presented 50 bags of 5×5 rice and 25 boxes of cooking oil, twelve in each box, to the Chief Imam of Adentan.
During the presentation, the MCE said, “This year has been so good, Easter was just celebrated, and Muslims also just ended their fasting, and I can say God’s blessings should be on us 100 percent.”
He added that this is just a small token from the assembly to various communities to help in their Eid celebrations.
The Chief Imam expressed his gratitude to the MCE for his thoughtful gesture. “Thank you for thinking about us as the Muslim community. May Allah bless you and make your paths smooth as an assembly,” he said.
The Youth Chief of Adentan, Alhaji Abdul Razak Alhassan, who was present at the presentation, said the food items would be presented to all the various mosques within the Adentan community.
The NPP Nasara wing of the Adentan Municipal, Hajj D.D Adams, said the items are a “Gudumuah” from the assembly to be shared among all Muslims.
The donation was well received by the Muslim community in Adentan, and it will undoubtedly help to make their EID celebrations more enjoyable. The Adentan Municipal Assembly’s gesture is a testament to the importance of promoting unity and understanding among the various religious groups in the municipality.
As we continue to navigate through challenging times, it is important to support and show compassion to one another regardless of our religious beliefs. The Adentan Municipal Assembly’s donation is a remarkable example of how small gestures of kindness can have a significant impact on the lives of others.
