Adentan Municipal Assembly organized a meeting between the Assembly and Landlords/ladies and residents’ association within the municipality.
The meeting was held at the Calvary Baptist Church – Adenta to discuss developmental issues withing the municipality.
Hon. Daniel Alexander Nii-Noi Adumuah, the Municipal Chief Executive touched on many issues that were of interest to participants present. In his initial address, he made it clear that Adentan requires about 650km of roads and presently, 150km has been tarred with 500km untarred. This he said is a deficit to the Assembly and gradually will be done as time goes on.
The MCE elaborated on the month of June which is declared as a tree planting month. He urged participants to partake in the tree planting exercise by planting and nurturing at least 6 trees around their residence.
The MCE spoke on “Operation Clean Your Frontage” as an initiative that requires the conscious effort of all residents. He suggested that residents’ association can employ a person to clean their streets regularly. This will maintain the sanitation level of the community as well as create jobs for people.
He touched on security related issues, siting of buildings, kiosks and noise making in the community. He emphasized on the fact that residents should be safety conscious within their environment and report noise makers. He cautioned that, wrongfully sited properties, buildings, and kiosks at unapproved locations should be removed by owners or will be demolished. However, he made it clear that kiosks used for business purposes should be registered with the Assembly for proper allocation.
During the open forum session, participants raised many concerns on payment of property rates and building permits, drains, digital addressing system and roads.
