Sub-Committee members of the Adentan Municipal Assembly on Tuesday the 16th of November, 2021 held a meeting on social services in the municipality.

In the meeting chaired by Hon. Vivian Bosompem, a government appointee, major issues were addressed which includes, improving refuse collection and provision of waste bins in schools within the municipality, Budgets for water consumption in schools and public sensitization on bye-laws.

Dr. Jeffery Arhin, the Municipal Health Director mentioned that, currently there is only one active case of Covid in the municipality. He introduced the committee to the “no vaccine, no entry” policy that will be initiated before the Christmas festive season. This he said will be enforced at night clubs, event centers, tourist sites and places that are likely to attended by people during the season as a way of reducing the spread of Covid-19 hence compelling people to get vaccinated. He also said that, people are free to visit the vaccine center for a card replacement in case the original cards get damaged or misplaced.

Dr. Arhin concluded by stating that, some private health centers including the Mother Love Hospital has given their frontage to the Assembly as a site for chip compound.

The Municipal Social Welfare Officer, Mr. Divine Exorgbey addressed the issue of street children. He said that, street children will be rescued and sent back to their origin once funds are released to the department. He also mentioned that, the department requires support from religious bodies and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in dealing with issues related to street children.

The event was graced by Mr. Ludwig M. Agbezuhlor the municipal birth and death registrar and other committee members.
