The Municipal Planning and Coordinating Unit Committee Members has undertaken a two-day project monitoring exercise as part of its Third Quarter Composite Monitoring Exercise to assess the progress of ongoing development projects across the Municipality.

The exercise focused on borehole drilling and mechanisation projects, as well as the construction of educational infrastructure, to ensure effective implementation and timely completion.

Day One: Borehole Project Monitoring

On the first day, the Monitoring Team inspected several borehole projects at various locations, including Frafraha, Sraha AdMA Basic School, Adjiringanor Health Centre, Bethel Presbyterian School, Sutsurunaa Zonal Council and Islamic Basic School, among others.

At Frafraha Community Senior High School, the team observed that drilling had not commenced, as an appropriate location was yet to be identified. Similarly, at Sraha AdMA Basic School, a feasibility study and ground inspection had been conducted, but drilling was yet to begin.

At the Adjiringanor Health Centre, the borehole had been drilled and capped. The team also observed that the boreholes at Bethel Presbyterian School, Sutsurunaa Zonal Council and Islamic Basic School had been drilled and capped. However, the projects were at different stages of completion, with further work required to make the facilities fully operational.

Day Two: Assessment of Ongoing Projects

On the second day, the team continued its assessment of ongoing projects, including borehole drilling and mechanisation at Frafraha Community Senior High School, New Legon AdMA Model School, Amrahia Health Centre and Adentan Community School, as well as the construction of a two-storey, six-unit classroom block at Amrahia Basic School.

At New Legon AdMA Model School, the borehole drilling and mechanisation project was still ongoing. At Amrahia Basic School, construction of the two-storey classroom block remained incomplete, with work progressing at the first-floor level. The team also assessed the associated borehole project, noting that the overhead tank was yet to be completed.

At Amrahia Health Centre, the borehole drilling and mechanisation project was still ongoing, while work at Adentan Community School had not yet been completed. The team further noted that an appropriate site was yet to be identified for the proposed borehole at Frafraha Community Senior High School.

The two-day exercise forms part of the Assembly’s commitment to inspect development projects, promoting accountability and ensuring that projects deliver their intended benefits to residents.

The findings will help identify outstanding works and areas requiring attention to support the completion of the projects.
