The Adentan Municipal Assembly held a symbolic launch of the much-anticipated Nkuko Nkitinkiti programme, a flagship initiative promised by President His Excellency John Dramani Mahama to bring relief and economic empowerment to Ghanaians.

The event, which took place at the Assembly premises, saw a number of beneficiaries receive chicks as part of the programme’s rollout.

In a brief address, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ella Christine Esinam Nongo, acknowledged receipt of the chicks and urged beneficiaries to nurture them diligently. She emphasized that proper care of the birds would yield positive results not only for individual families but also for the wider community and the national economy.

The Municipal Director of Agriculture disclosed that the Assembly had received a total of 8,887 birds earmarked for 35 beneficiaries. She further explained that each beneficiary was provided with 6 kilograms of feed to support the initial stages of rearing.

The Coordinating Director also admonished the beneficiaries to rear the birds responsibly, stressing that the success of the programme would be measured by its tangible impact on livelihoods and local development.

The Nkuko Nikitinkiti programme is expected to boost poultry farming, enhance food security, and create sustainable income opportunities for households across the Municipality by extension, Ghana.
