The General Assembly of the Adentan Municipal Assembly held its First Ordinary meeting of the First Session of the Fifth Assembly on Wednesday, 8th to 10th May 2024.
The meeting was attended by heads of various departments and units of the Assembly, the Member of Parliament for Adentan Constituency, Hon. Mohammed Adamu Ramadan, the MCE, Hon. Ebenezer Doku, Municipal Coordinating Director Ms. Rachel Fosua Sarpong, and all the Assembly Members.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ebenezer Doku delivering his Sessional Address to the House noted that “while our Municipality generally enjoys a sense of calm, we are not immune to security challenges with reported incidents of break-ins, assaults, theft and fire outbreaks, the influx of foreign nationals and accompanying activities, land guard activities and land litigation persist”.
He noted that despite ongoing efforts by the Assembly to combat these crimes through support from security agencies, it is imperative that Assembly leverage every opportunity to raise awareness among our residents about the importance of vigilance and reporting suspicious activities to appropriate authorities.
He therefore entreated Hon. Assembly Members and staff of the Assembly to maximize every opportunity given to educate/sensitize residents of the importance of being vigilant and taking the initiative to report suspicious activities to relevant authorities.
He assured that the security agencies are relentless in ensuring that the peace the residents enjoyed was not disrupted.
In the address, Hon. Ebenezer Doku also touched on other areas of equal concerns such as, developmental projects within the Municipality, Health, environmental sanitation, social services, local economic development, administrative and human resource issues and update on implementation of government flagship projects within the Municipality.
Hon. Doku further praised the unity and dedication among staff, stating that the unity and steadfastness displayed by staff of the Adentan Municipal Assembly are sources of pride and he is confident that their collective unity will serve as a powerful catalyst for the development of the Municipality.
