The Adentan Municipal Assembly on Thursday, March 17, 2022 has voted to retain the out-going Presiding Member (PM) of the assembly, Hon. Joseph Odai-Boye to continue his work.

The membership of the Adentan Municipal Assembly is 20 and the regulation is that whoever emerges as the presiding member must get at least two-thirds (2/3) of the 20 votes and that works out to 14 votes.

At the end of voting contest, Hon. Odai-Boye met the two-thirds threshold polling15 votes representing 75% of the 19 votes cast, with his contender, Timothy Abolga Polling 4 votes.

The Municipal Chief Executive of Adentan Municipal Assembly in his introductory speech indicated that the assembly meets every two years to appoint a presiding member as the rules pertain.

In his acceptance speech at the swearing-in ceremony held at the assembly’s forecourt, Hon. Odai Boye assured the members of AdMA that he was willing to work with everybody and pledged his commitment to ensuring that the “Operation clean your frontage” initiative which was instituted by the NPP government was carried out and brought to the doorsteps of the people of Adentan.

“Everybody voted for me and I must be able to work with everybody,” added the retained Presiding member of AdMA, Hon. Odai-Boye.

According to him, it was time for the assembly to unite and push the Adentan municipality forward.

Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Henry Quartey, who was the special guest at the ceremony, remarked that: “The people of Adentan have reposed confidence in us and for that matter, we have to make sure that we build the community.”

Hon. Henry Quartey one again expressed his gratitude to Adentan Municipal Assembly for accepting the President’s nominee, Hon. Daniel Alexander Nii Noi Adumuah as MCE for the Adentan constituency.

 

Hon. Joseph Odai-Boye thanked the members of AdMA for once again electing him as Presiding Member to serve the good people of Adentan.

The ceremony was graced by Her Lordship Linda Ammisah, Judge of the Magistrate Court of Adentan, Bridget Arthur NDC constituency executive member, Madam Georgina Poku, Patron for NPP constituency, and Adjoa Bonsompem, Women Organizer for NPP.
